Service Description

Eight week course starting on Tuesday 16th August - 4th October 2022 Mindfulness & Wellbeing Programme - young adults aged 12-15 years We offer a mental wellbeing service to support young people age 12-25 years. This mindfulness, compassion and wellbeing programme is designed for teenagers aged 12-15 years. The course aims to enhance each young person's mental, emotional, physical health and wholeness to live a healthier, happier, more productive and meaningful life. The programme runs for one hour every Tuesday evening at 6.15-7.15pm for eight consecutive weeks at The Wellbeing Centre in a supportive and safe environment within a small and friendly group. This course is a preventative approach that empowers young adults to develop a greater awareness and understanding of themselves, to develop good mental wellbeing skills and to apply these practical and helpful skills in everyday life. This course offers a valuable educational resource to understand more about the nature of the mind and it's relation to the brain, autonomic nervous system, emotions and body. The course will aim to develop the capacity for mindful non-judgmental awareness of thoughts, feelings and behaviour. Never has it been so important as it is now for young people to be able to freely access training programmes to increase self-awareness, resilience, self-esteem and confidence to improve and manage their own wellbeing. This course has been fully funded by the Scottish Government. What Young People Say They've Learned: "I have learned what mindfulness is and how it can help me when I'm feeling stressed or worried." - age 13 years. "It has helped me to stay calm in certain situations" - age 15 years. "The course has helped me to focus more and notice thoughts but not to let them take over, because I used to find it very difficult to focus and to notice what my mind was actually doing." - age 15 years. The course is planned to take place at The Wellbeing Centre, 31 Gavinton Street, Muirend, G44 3EF. PARENT/CARER WORKSHOP Parents and carers of young people aged 12-15 years will be required to attend a Course Introduction Session to learn more about the content of the course curriculum and commitment required to support young people on Tuesday 9th August at 6.30pm. Cancellation Policy

To cancel a class please contact us ideally 24 hours in advance. You can do this by logging into your account, navigating to My Bookings and choose 'cancel'. We operate a waiting list policy and this process allows us to offer your place to another member. Sessions cancelled with less than 4 hours before the class start time will not be refunded back to your account. More than 3 cancellations without notice may result in future bookings not being accepted.
