About the Event
Our charity's Young People's Wellbeing programme is a free community resource which has been granted funding from The Trades House of Glasgow to offer young adults experiencing stress, anxiety, sleep issues, low mood/mood swings, low self-esteem and confidence support throughout 2021.
Courses will be held in The Wellbeing Centre and will be delivered in small friendly peer groups for ages 19-23 years.
Seperate courses are available for age groups 12-15 years and 16-18 years.
This Level 1 life skills programme starts with an eight week mindful awareness course to help young adults understand the mind and it's relationship to the brain and body and the affect on thoughts, emotions and behaviour.
The course will help young people develop vital life skills, tools and techniques to manage psychological, emotional and mental wellbeing.
The programme is a preventative approach that empowers young people to develop greater self-awareness, focus, calm, self-regulation, confidence and resilience.
What Young People Say:
"Awareness, observational skills, how to find peace. Thank you!"
"How to live in the moment. Become less stressed. Self Kindness and not being hard on myself."
"I have learned about how my judgemental thoughts are just thoughts and that I can control them by simply recognising them."
Referrals can be made through GP's, CAMHS, Educators and other professionals. Young adults can book themselves onto the course and any questions can be directed to hello@cultivatingmindfulness.org.uk
